Hi, I'm Anders, one of the co-founders.

I remember when I was working as a strategy consultant at a mid-sized company in Denmark. The year was slowly coming to an end and top-management had spent months formulating the long-awaited strategy.

I was tasked with finding an appropriate goal-setting system, which would establish a unified approach across regions and business units. Simple enough, I thought.

I quickly turned to the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) framework, greatly inspired by Radical Focus by Christina Wodtke. So, the next step became finding the appropriate tool to put the OKR framework into the hands of the teams within the company. This quickly proved a lot harder.

I tried everything — documents, spreadsheets, and a long list of “enterprise-grade strategy execution platforms. The documents and spreadsheets were simple enough to use, however, they quickly became a complete mess to maintain. People lost track of their OKRs, and the overview was lost among tabs or different files.

The straegy execution platforms on the other hand provided structure, but were way too complicated, and impossible to roll out without intensive training. The market felt split between tools that were too simple to be useful and tools that were too complex to actually use.

Years later, I got together with my co-founders Alex and Sophia, who have long backgrounds in tech and design respectively. We were all excited about the idea: to create the most effective strategy execution software that teams will want to use. That's how Planomic came to be.
